This difficulty basically turns the game into a full-on survival experience, with real stakes and no manual or autosave. Players can only save when sleeping. Moreover, the Sole Survivor will be subjected to thirst, hunger, and exhaustion. While this difficulty alone is pretty good, there are a few mods that make it even better.
This will make wandering at night time in a nuclear wasteland a real challenge. Some of the features can also be played around with to change how well enemies detect the player in darkness. For an extra challenge, give enemies better night vision.
The mod has a bit of everything, from changing how loot and the economy work to making combat a bit more realistic. There are new items as well, mostly trash, which will encourage players to craft rather than find what they need in the wild. It's a staple Fallout 4 survival mod.
The Start Me Up mod is fantastic for players who want a much more challenging start. Sanctuary Hills is pretty easy and full of useful loot, so spawning in a location further down south with nothing but a shirt on the Sole Survivor's back is the ultimate challenge. Even better, the mod adjusts the game's dialogue accordingly.

You can scan what's on a body or inside a bin just by walking up to it, then cherry-pick from there. This is a good thing, because in Fallout 4, there's a lot to loot, and even junk has value because it's used in crafting.
Fallout: New Vegas, developed by Obsidian, has a more archaic loot system by default, similar to the one used in Fallout 3 before it and Skyrim after it. This is a Cyberpunk 2077 mod that adds detailed loot markers on looting containers and dropped loot.If a container contains items of different types (armor, weapon, eddies), an icon for each category will show instead of the default loot marker, with different colored icons to represent the highest quality loot in each category.
Other than that, I've been enjoying playing with Rust (the language, not the game), and rewriting LOOT's supporting libespm and libloadorder libraries in it (because apparently I have too much free time or something), so the next version of LOOT may ship with their rewrites if they're ready. It might seem a little pointless other than as a learning exercise (which is mostly the point) but the crash-on-sort bug I mentioned above would be impossible in Rust. I'm not planning on doing a wholesale rewrite of LOOT in Rust though, because the LOOT API has a large surface area that would be very painful to reimplement in a way that's callable from C++ (because for interop Rust provides C compatibility, but C APIs are horrible). Also because I need to have better things to do with my time...
WrinklyNinja is the reason why I started working with the modding community. Being given the chance to be part of BOSS got me started. I was just editing a text file at the time but as time went on I was motivated to do more. I realized that placing the mods in the BOSS masterlist was hard because some mods changed more then just weapons and armor or spells. Wrinkly told me without TES5Edit it would be difficult to place them into a better group. Then he said nobody had been in touch with Elminster. That got me thinking because I didn't have a clue as to what TES5Edit was or who Elminster was. I didn't know where to start, but that wasn't going to stop me. Even at first Arthmoor didn't believe what he was reading. Picture it, some guy comes out of nowhere with only a few posts because I had been posting in the BOSS Forum, someone nobody knows at all, and says they are going to make TES5Edit. They are like what, yeah sure I'll believe it when I see it.
Watch your indentation. Set up LOOT so it doesn't auto update the masterslit that way you can edit the masterlist in the users folder and run loot to test it before making the Git commit. If you commit a mistake to the live server, don't revert it or rebase the branch because LOOT won't be able to sync properly for some reason. (Unless that changed) This won't apply if you are committing to your fork because users pull from the LOOT server not your fork. Don't worry about making mistakes at first you will get a notification from Travis (Automated system) if there is a syntax error. Try not to rely on Travis, but we all make mistakes, it happens. I don't know if Travis notifies you when you have the repo forked though. EDIT: Some doesn't apply, I was wondering.
The various types of loot (pistol/rifle/shotgun/etc for guns, leather/metal/raider/etc for armor) in their unmodded form have similar base stats regardless of what level you're at, the difference is as you get further into the game the loot you get from enemies has more mods on it.
There are certain things (like plasma rifles) which can be more difficult to find because they're used less by your enemies and some types of armor and weaponry will only drop \"later in the game\" but if you were to go straight to those locations and kill those enemies now they'd still drop similar loot, if you know what I mean.
The higher the level of difficulty, the greater the chance of spawning legendary enemies. These guys are much tougher, but drop loot with unique benefits, such as increased attack damage, or a boost to your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats.
Long answer: depends, mostly yes though.The loot scales with character level in terms of what type of armor/weapons you find on enemies, for example: below level 10 you'll hardly ever find combat armor but mostly raider/leather/metal equipment. However this is not taking into account that certain types of NPCs always wear certain armor types, like diamond city security.the same goes for weapon types, for example super mutants will most likely drop boards or hunting rifles while early in the game, but later they might also have a laser weapon or fancy swords, though some super mutants (usually associated with certain locations) will have really powerful weapons, even early in the game.
so for the gazillion random encounters in the waste, the loot level does rise with your character level, based on enemy scaling. it's like in skyrim really, at first they all just have leather/iron armor/weapons and later they get glass/elven/steel/dwarven/ebony/daedric etc.
If you are just starting out you need to level up your character fast. Here is a guide how to get XP fast. Once you reached the maximum level cap you want to increase your chances to earn badass loot. You can play the game on higher difficulty tiers to increase the loot drops, however, there are a few different tricks you can do to increase the loot or even by-pass farming.
You can open up a golden chest on Sanctuary III. This will give you badass loot that is on par with your character level. In order to open up this chest, you are going to need Golden Keys. You can get those by following the Borderlands social channels or you can find them here up on my site.
Both MO2 and Vortex have LOOT built in, making load order issues easier. However, if you want to install MODs on Bethesda games including Morrowind, Fallout 3, Fallout 4 (VR), Tale of Two Wastelands (TTW), Skyrim (SE, VR), etc. MO2 is still better for the following reason:
Vortex takes care of installing mods through hardlinks (a \"dirty\" way of virtualizing folders), while MO2 virtualizes folders in a better way than Vortex by basically leaving your data folder alone and installing mods in MO2 folder, which is a much cleaner way than Vortex.
The Craftable Ammo mod adds even more crafting to the expansive build-fest that is Fallout 4, but we have no problem with that. The mod includes a new crafting table called the Reloading Workbench, allowing you to take materials and fill your ammo stores with plenty of bullets and bombs. No need to wander the radioactive wilderness looting bodies and checking drawers for forgotten ammo. Just get crafting and make it all yourself. 153554b96e
