The Minolta MC Rokkor 85mm F1.4 is really good. I have one and a Rokkor-X 24mm F1.7 and it's very sharp and is one of my favorite lenses. The Minolta 85mm f/1.7 is also excellent and is a good value.

Yes, the Rokkor-X 24mm will give the Rokkor-X a run for its money when it comes to sharpness, but it is much heavier than the Rokkor-X at 9.5oz vs. 6.5oz. The Rokkor-X 24mm is also much cheaper with a street price of $79 and the Minolta 85mm f/1.7 with a street price of about $220.

One of the first digital SLR's that I used was the Minolta Dimage Pro II. It was a good camera but I had to get a used Canon EOS 1D Mark III for a better deal. I still use it regularly and the 1D is still the best all around digital camera that I have used so far. I think it still beats a lot of the digital cameras that are on the market today.

update: Compared to Minolta Oly MC Rokkor, I have to admit that this Rokkor-X 17mm f2.0 lens is a little bit better for me. I don't remember when I posted my previous comment, but I don't mind doing more comparison photos now.
