Default Retroarch: Retroarch 64 is the one I setup and been using. I test my roms using just retroarch64 and setup the cores through there. JUST because its in the dropdown doesn't mean its installed. You still need to add the core. once I did that, no more black screen.

I added a bunch of new roms into the games/download folder of my external SD card (It's literally the same one from my original RP2), but now once I put it back into my RP2+, the system just displays a "Handheld console is starting" message forever, it's been stuck for hours. Did I break the world? Should I add the ROMs in a different way? Some were fairly large GC games, I'm wondering if it's just a byproduct of how large the contents of the folder was? I have a 256GB micro in there, it worked fine on my original RP2.

Android installers use the extension .apkSo you will need the AM2R apk in order to install it on your RP2. Likely, the zip file you found contains the apk file you need. If you need more help the AM2R subreddit has a lot of resources to help you find the file you need.
