Special Agent Scully is a foil for Mulder in this regard. As a medical doctor and natural skeptic, Scully approaches cases with complete detachment, even when Mulder, despite his considerable training, loses his objectivity.[6] She is partnered with Mulder initially so that she can debunk Mulder's nonconforming theories, often supplying logical, scientific explanations for the cases' apparently unexplainable phenomena. Although she is frequently able to offer scientific alternatives to Mulder's deductions, she is rarely able to refute them completely. Over the course of the series, she becomes increasingly dissatisfied with her own ability to approach the cases scientifically.[7] After Mulder's abduction at the hands of aliens in the seventh season finale "Requiem", Scully becomes a "reluctant believer" who manages to explain the paranormal with science.[8]
Release of The X-Files' seasons on Blu-ray, restored in high-definition, was rumored to begin in late 2013.[213] The German TV channel ProSieben Maxx began airing first-season episodes reformatted in widescreen and in high-definition on January 20, 2014.[214] On April 23, 2015, Netflix began streaming episodes of The X-Files in high definition, marking the first time that the series has been made available in the high resolution format in North America.[215] In October 2015, it was confirmed that the complete series would be reissued on Blu-ray, and the full set was released on December 8, 2015.[216] The set was criticized for using the wrong fonts for the title sequence and season 8 was affected by color balance issues making the picture appear darker in most episodes (an issue known as "black crush"). These issues led to Fox offering corrected discs and eventually issuing new sets with the correct color balance.[217][218]
The time has come to explore SG-1's entire journey through space with Stargate SG-1 - The Complete Series Collector's Edition landing on DVD October 9, commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the award-winning series. The expansive 54-disc collection from MGM Home Entertainment includes all 214 episodes spanning the series' 10 seasons, all previously released special features and four bonus discs loaded with never-before-released extras. Marking the longest consecutive running science-fiction series on American television, outranking both X-Files and the Star Trek series, including all spin-offs, Stargate SG-1 - The Complete Series Collector's Edition DVD collection is encased in collectible, commemorative packaging, making it a perfect holiday gift for any sci-fi fan.
20th Century Fox has brought 'The X-Files: Collector's Set' together in fine form. Collectively, the set features each individual season housed in their respective hard Blu-ray cases held in a rectangular box with slipcover that is roughly 3.5 inches wide by 7 inches high by 13 inches long. For a comparison, this box is roughly the same size and dimensions as the 1966 'Batman The Complete Television Series' box set. I really love the packaging of this set by keeping the respective seasons in their own hard cases so you don't have to worry about the discs getting scratched or crushed if they were housed in a big sleeve book. This box also includes a slot for the eventual Blu-ray release of the upcoming revival series. The totality of the series is pressed onto 55 Region A Locked BD50 discs. Each disc opens directly to their respective main menus with traditional navigation options. Thankfully they saw fit to include a "play all" option for each disc making binge viewing a lot easier.
Is this where Buffy learned to do it? We see Mulder on the brink of death several times throughout the series, but never does he actually cross over into the great unknown, that is until season 8. After being abducted and missing for half of the season (David Duchovny wanted to work on other projects, and we still haven't forgiven him for that), Mulder's body appears out of nowhere, completely lifeless.
The Cigarette-Smoking Man may have played a role in John Doggett's absence from The X-Files revival. When it came time for the return of The X-Files in 2016, many viewers hoped that they would get to see all their favorite characters back; or at least the ones who managed to survive season 9. By the time The X-Files season 10 and season 11 were complete that wish had mostly been granted, as in addition to Mulder and Scully leading, Monica Reyes, Jeffrey Spender, Skinner, William Scully, the Cigarette-Smoking Man and even the long-dead Lone Gunmen made appearances.
While those are the real-world circumstances though, it's completely unclear what Doggett has been doing since season 9, as he also sat out the financially disastrous X-Files: I Want to Believe movie. After all that Doggett saw during his time working on the X-Files, it's hard to imagine he just went back to a normal law enforcement career afterward. Especially since - while he and Mulder were far from best friends - Doggett grew quite fond of Scully and vice versa, so it seems likely he would've remained part of her life in some way. Then of course there's Reyes. Doggett and Reyes were at the very least close friends, and at times hinted to have romantic feelings for each other. For Reyes to not even bring up Doggett to Scully during the revival feels off somehow. It also begs the question as to where Doggett was when Reyes got approached to join the frequently dead Cigarette-Smoking Man, as he surely would've tried to talk her out of it. That is unless he was in jeopardy himself, and thus in no position to intervene. 781b155fdc
